Cubist Abstraction with Flesh and Teeth

I began like a Picasso,
Deformed and misplaced  –
a distortion
My eyes below my feet,
My face but wasted space

Twisting through curves –
Seeking new shape
I began to transform the cube,
Making a new place –
But, where do I put my teeth?

Evolving to Rubin’s dream,
Making others believe
Showing that I could be,
More than abstracted seams

Like broken glass  – shattered apart,
I became more than what the mirror saw
Bending and forming,
Melting my pot –
Still, where do I put my teeth?

Continue on I must,
Progressing further in my art
Sculpting through eyes of Michaelangelo,
Clay stretching to form my ways

Birth of Venuus,
Firm and round
Curvaceous – Vivacious,
From all around
Forming new ground –

I know not where to sink my teeth
